Training of security specialists in the educational environment has begun at LvSUIA

Today, the third stage of the "Security Specialist in the Educational Environment" project has been launched at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. It provides the training of 25 specialists. This time, participants from 15 regions of Ukraine will take part in the training. These are representatives of territorial communities from Chernihiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Ternopil, Transcarpathia, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Kyiv region.

At the beginning of the event, Roman Blahuta, the university's Rector, addressed the audience with a welcome speech.

"Educator on safety in the educational environment" is an interesting and promising project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Its purpose is to train specialists who will guarantee a safe educational environment in educational institutions. These days we are conducting the training. And every time we analyze the information from your predecessors who have already undergone advanced training. During this intensive course, you will also be able to gain new knowledge and skills and implement them in your communities," Roman Blahuta said.

Vasyl Bohdan, Head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police of Ukraine, also addressed the project participants.

"Creating a safe educational environment is a complex process that we must support at a professional level. Your colleagues, who were trained at the previous stages, are now successfully performing their functional duties in various regions of Ukraine. They form an educational environment for more than a hundred educational institutions. With the assistance of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, we will continue to build such a safe and high-quality environment for children," Vasyl Bohdan said.

Yuriy Kitsul, Head of the Department for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Human Rights Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, was the next speaker. He noted that due to the full-scale invasion, educational institutions had to face new challenges that affected the security situation.

Vitaliy Romanov, Head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police of Ukraine, and Ihor Stakhura, Director of the Center for Post-Graduate Education, Distance and Correspondence Education of the Institute for Training Specialists for National Police Units of the National Police of LvSUIA, also addressed their welcoming speeches to the audience.

It should be noted that safety educators will become a kind of communicators between local self-government bodies, police, rescuers, educators, students and parents. Their main tasks will be to detect and stop violations in educational institutions, participate in preventive measures and provide suggestions for strengthening a safe educational environment, free from bullying, violence and drugs.
