The EUAM training on combating domestic and gender-based violence has been started at LvSUIA

Training from the Advisory Mission of the European Union on combating domestic and gender-based violence has begun at the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The event will last for four days.

The event is held within the framework of the Global 16 Days Campaign Against Violence.

Iryna Yevkhutych, Rector's Adviser on Gender Issues, addressed the training participants with a welcoming speech.

"Representatives of those structural units who are the first to react to cases of domestic and gender-based violence have joined the event. Therefore, due to qualified trainers, each of the participants will learn a lot of interesting information and gain useful skills. I wish effective communication and successful training," Iryna Yevkhutych emphasized.

Representatives of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region, as well as the Department of the Patrol Police of the Lviv region became the participants of the training.

LvSUIA will be presented at the event by Diana Pylypchuk-Prishchenko, a teacher of the Cycle of General Law Disciplines Western Ukrainian Center for Primary Vocational Training "Police Academy".

The training will be conducted by Gediminas Buciunas, Senior Adviser on Prosecution, from Lithuania and Jukka Larkio, Trainer on Criminal Investigations, from Finland. Besides that, Marta Vasylkevych, Head of the Sector of Domestic Violence Prevention of the Lviv District Police Department No.2, and Vira Protsiv, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Department of the Lviv Region Patrol Police Department, will join the event.

The training participants will discuss how to counteract various forms of violence and overcome gender stereotypes in society. Experts will also talk about the algorithm of law enforcement officers' actions of in domestic violence cases and how to bring the offender to justice.

In addition, the participants will learn more about the experience of other countries in countering and preventing domestic and gender-based violence, will consider the issues of the legal framework in this area, as well as various practical cases.
