Experts of the EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine (EUAM) spoke about the international experience in public order protection

Meetings with EUAM representatives are ongoing at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. Recently, the Mission's specialists have conducted classes for cadets on "Public Order".

Public Safety Coordinator Nuno Simoes, Senior Law Enforcement Advisor Michael Storm, and Advisor and Trainer on Public Order Magro Moros shared their practical experience.

The speakers talked about the purpose of the EU Advisory Mission and the history of its emergence after the Euromaidan events in 2014. They emphasized that the main function of the structure is to help Ukraine in the form of strategic consultations and practical trainings.

And after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EUAM specialists focused on conducting exercises to investigate international crimes committed by the invaders.

"Now we are focusing on how to improve the interaction between the police and the National Guard. We constantly conduct trainings on the protection of civil order, where we involve policemen and national guardsmen. We also train trainers to provide first aid," Magro Moros from Spain said.

EUAM representatives told the cadets about the international experience of public order protection. They discussed the purpose of the police service in a democratic society and the people's right to free assembly. In addition, the main provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights were considered.
