Cadets of LvSUIA learned about the main tasks of NACB

Director of the Lviv Territorial Administration of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Taras Lopushanskyi, visited LvSUIA. He briefed the university cadets about the institution's structure, its historical development, and the intricacies of the work carried out by NACB detectives.

At the commencement of the event, the Rector of LvSUIA Roman Blahuta addressed the audience.

"On October 14, 2014, the Law 'On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine' was passed. Currently, the NACB functions as a central body of executive power with a distinctive status. The Bureau's team identifies large-scale corruption offenses and ensures the prosecution of wrongdoers. Today, during this session, you will be acquainted with the fundamental principles of NACB's operations and the criteria for becoming a part of this crucial organization," Roman Blahuta emphasized.

During the session, Taras Lopushanskyi underscored specific instances of anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine and highlighted the outcomes of the NACB's work over its history.

Moreover, the speaker remarked, "Since the inception of the NACB, we have successfully prosecuted numerous high-ranking officials. As of now, over 1,200 individuals are facing charges, including 450 who hold the status of suspects. Among them are 46 senior state officials and members of parliament, 36 Category 'A' civil servants, 93 heads of state-owned enterprises, 71 judges, and others. To date, more than 6.8 billion hryvnias have been recovered in cases investigated by the NACB and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. Despite resistance from the corrupt system, we remain steadfast in our positions."

Concluding his address, Taras Lopushanskyi outlined the prerequisites for prospective NACB detectives, emphasizing high levels of professionalism and integrity as the foremost requirements.
