A meeting with representatives of the International Organization for Migration took place at LvSUIA

Employees of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and the International Organization for Migration discussed issues regarding future cooperation, in particular, the implementation of joint projects.

The Rector of LvSUIA Roman Blahuta and the Head of the Department of Actualization of Learning and Practical Training, Oleksandra Zakharova represented the university at the event.

Employees of the organization were also present at the event, such as Anna Karelina, the Head of the team on protection issues in Lviv region, and Nelya Zablotska-Sennikova, specialist of the regional team on protection issues in Lviv region.

During the meeting, Roman Blahuta, the Rector of the university, presented the educational institution, talked about the structure, main areas of activity, mission and vision of ways of cooperation.

He also noted that the problems of illegal migration, combating human trafficking and other forms of exploitation have always been and are relevant. Therefore, LvSUIA is interested in holding joint educational, scientific and practical events on this topic.

The Rector emphasized that according to the needs of the educational process the university has the necessary facilities such as the forensic and tactical training ground "Human trafficking, labor and sexual exploitation", as well as a special training complex on conducting investigative (search) actions with vulnerable category of population "Green room".

Anna Karelina, the Head of the team on protection issues in Lviv region, spoke more about the activities of the organization and, in particular, the IOM Protection Program. She noted that the International Organization for Migration helps people who have suffered the consequences of the conflict, counteracts human trafficking, provides assistance to the Government in combating irregular migration and improving the management system of migration processes.
