The winners of the contest of research essays among pupils were chosen at LvSUIA

The results of the contest of research essays on social and legal topics among schoolchildren of Lviv region were announced at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.

This year the event took place for the third time. The event is a joint project of LvSUIA, the Department of Education and Science of LRSA and the Lviv Regional Minor Academy of Sciences for Youth.

27 young men and women from educational institutions of Lviv and Lviv region took part in the event. The meeting with the contestants was held online.

Roman Blahuta, Rector of LvSUIA, welcomed the audience.

"The talented youth of Lviv region, despite studying under martial law, can demonstrate high performance not only in mastering school subjects, but also in science. I am convinced that each of you has a strong civic position and is a real patriot," the Rector of the university emphasized.

The event was moderated by the LvSUIA Vice-Rector Olha Balynska.

The participants' works the were evaluated in seven nominations. In their research, young scientists substantiated their own vision of ways of solving social and legal problems at the level of a person, family, social group, society, state. The issues of national resistance, national security and language were raised. In addition, they covered gender problems of Ukrainian society, investigated problems of economy, psychology and pedagogy.

All essays have been peer-reviewed and checked for academic integrity on StrikePlagiarism.com anti-plagiarism system. Preference was given to works that were distinguished by original vision of the problem and the unique author's approach.

This year, the participants who won prizes will be awarded with diplomas, and their scientific supervisors will be awarded with letters of commendation from the organizing committee of the contest. In addition, schoolchildren will receive memorable gifts.

“Academic mobility is a unique opportunity to share experiences” – Rector of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs Roman Blahuta

  Lviv State University of Internal Affairs has joined the implementation of a pilot project on the providing of academic mobility programs between higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As part of the project, cadets and teachers of departmental universities have the opportunity to visit other cities, share experiences and achievements, as well as establish effective communication with colleagues.

Representatives of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs paid their first such visit to Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. 10 cadets and 5 teachers of this university took part in this project. During one week, they will actively participate in the events that will take place in LvSUIA and get acquainted with the material and technical base of the university.

"I've always been curious about how cadets in other cities live and study, what they dream about, what they do in their free time," says Dmytro Sych, a cadet of the OSUIA.

Thanks to the project, the guy visited Lviv for the first time. He admits that he is impressed by the beauty of the city and the hospitality of colleagues. He expects to find new friends during the exchange, as well as learn as much as possible about the training and leisure of LvSUIA.

Today LvSUIA Rector Roman Blahuta met with the participants of the program. He wished them to spend this week productively and interestingly."Academic mobility is a unique opportunity to share experiences, communicate and agree on cooperation," said the Head of the university.

It should be noted that LvSUIA cadets and lecturers also became participants in the project on the implementation of academic mobility programs between HEI of the MIA. During this week, they will pay a visit to Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.

All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference "Mental health of the individual in a crisis society" took place in Lviv

Lviv State University of Internal Affairs hosted an all-Ukrainian conference on the topic of individual mental health in a crisis society. About a hundred scientists and practitioners from different parts of Ukraine joined the discussion of this extremely important topic. The event was held in a remote format - participants communicated online using the ZOOM platform.  

LvSUIA Rector Roman Blahuta addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. "Mental health is one of the most important resources of an individual. Topic of today's discussion meets modern needs, and its professional discussion will help solve problems that arise in a crisis society".  

Nina Lyhun, Head of the Psychological Support Department of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, also congratulated the participants of the scientific event.  

The discussion was moderated by Zoryana Kisil, Deputy Director of LvSUIA Institute of Management, Psychology and Security.

Many important and topical issues were discussed during the conference. In particular, participants talked about methods of preserving the mental health of servicemen, the psychological profile of the profession of the head of the National Police, psychological resources for overcoming crisis situations by future law enforcement officers. The participants of the event shared their views on the model of human behavior as a subject of self-preservation, as well as discussed approaches to assessing the risks of recidivism by children.

In addition, foreign experience of involving military chaplains in the psychological support of servicemen was considered. Tolerance of uncertainty as a strategy of youth life, theoretical aspects of professional health of a teacher of higher education was discussed.  

Participants of the conference shared their experience in the use of metaphorical associative cards in the process of psychological counseling. They discussed the toxicity of organizational culture, made a comparative analysis of the development of child psychotherapy in Western Europe and Ukraine.Gender characteristics of the influence of psychological factors on the formation of adolescent addiction, socio-psychological features of the solo lifestyle of women, the mental health of modern parents were also discussed during the event.
