The Management Department was founded in 2006 as part of the development of security and management education at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, organized by Vasyl Franchuk and Mykhailo Shtangret. Academician of the National Agrarian Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Roman Trynko made a significant contribution to the organization and development of the Department of Management.
During its activity, the Department of Management was headed by Professor Yuriy Stadnytsky, Associate Professor Volodymyr Dudyuk, and Professor Zinaida Zhyvko. Well-known scientists worked at the department, in particular: Yevhen Palyha, Yaroslav Pitsur, Bohdan Mizyuk, Mykola Dovba, Vasyl Kolomiets, Mykola Shulsky, and others.
The current staff of the department is set on a competitive basis, following the Regulations on the procedure for competitive selection when filling vacant positions of staff at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The staff quality is 100%, as the staff of the department is formed by 10 scientific workers, of which:
- Three Doctors of Economic Sciences
- Four Candidates of Economic Sciences
- One Candidate of Technical Sciences
- One Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration
- One Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences
Since October 1, 2018, the department has been headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Halyna Leskiv, who is a member of the specialized scientific council in the specialty 21.06.01 "Environmental Safety", her scientific and pedagogical experience is 15 years.
The Management Department trains applicants for higher education in the field of knowledge 07 "Management and Administration" specialty 073 "Management" in the educational-professional bachelor's program "Management and Business Security" and educational-professional master's program "Management and Security of Organizations". The department also trains graduate students in the specialty 073 "Management" educational and research program "Management and Security of Organizations". Accordingly, 3 graduate students study at the department.
Teaching disciplines of professional and practical training are provided by lecturers of the Management Department and related departments. Over the years, the department has graduated more than 400 specialists.
