The Department of Information and Analytical Support of Law Enforcement Agencies was established on September 11, 2000 by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated 08.08.2000 №528 and the order of the Rector of the Lviv institute of Internal Affairs at National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine №86 o / s dated 11.09 2000. During its operation it has changed its name several times (computer science and special equipment, information technology in the police activity, information technology, informatics).
The main task of the department is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology in the practical work of the National Police of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies.
A research group of higher education seekers has been established at the department. The material and technical base of the department consists of five computer classes.
The educational process with higher education seekers is provided by highly qualified specialists, of which 86% are employees with scientific degrees.
The main means of achieving the educational goal is the introduction of scientific and technological achievements in the educational process, as well as the practical development of a number of theoretical problems related to law enforcement of the police and other law enforcement agencies.
The Department of Information and Analytical Support of Law Enforcement Bodies fruitfully cooperates with the departments of all faculties of the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.
In order to update the tasks related to the preparation of graduates who must have a sufficient level of knowledge of computer technology and databases, the Department of Information and Analytical Support of Law Enforcement maintains close ties with related departments of I.Franko Lviv National University, National University "Lviv Polytechnic", National Forestry University of Ukraine and a number of other higher education institutions of Lviv.
In order to form practical skills in higher education seekers, facilitate their future entry into independent professional activity, acquaintance with the material and technical base of practical practical units of the National Police of Ukraine, curricula and thematic plans for disciplines the department provides practical classes with learning special computer programs.
Analysts and practitioners in the field of information technologies with high professional skills are involved in lecturing and conducting practical classes with higher education seekers.
The implementation of the conceptual tasks of the department helps the formation of future graduates as both highly qualified professionals and nationally conscious citizens of our state.
