The Department of Practical Psychology was founded in March 2021. The Department operates within the structure of the Institute of Management, Psychology and Security of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.
The department is headed by the Ph.D. Halyna Odyntsova.
The scientific and pedagogical employees of the Department provide educational, methodical, organizational, informational and didactic work with students of the Institute of Management, Psychology and Security and the Center of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of LvSUIA. The Department trains specialists with bachelor's and master's degree in the field of knowledge 05 "Social and Behavioral Sciences" in the speciality 053 Psychology. The Department also trains doctors of philosophy in the interdisciplinary educational and scientific program "Psychology and Management of the organization" in the specialty 053 Psychology, 073 Management.

The scientific and pedagogical employees of the Department manage the introductory and professional practice, provide assistance to the students in writing term papers, bachelor's and master's theses, as well as participate in the state certification of students. Research and teaching employees who have degrees and academic titles supervise graduate students.
A scientific research group "ANIMA" (head: Ph.D. Kuzo O.) was founded and operates at the Department of Practical Psychology. The group was created by the decision of the Department in order to identify creative, talented students and involve them in active scientific and research work.
