The unique “Barrier-Free Driving Schools” project was professionally introduced to the unbroken defenders

Members of the armed forces undergoing rehabilitation at the "Unbroken" Center in Lviv learned about how to participate in this initiative. Recently, a meeting was held with representatives from tLviv State University of Internal Affairs (LSUIA). They explained to the heroes the opportunity to study at the "Barrier‑Free Driving School" operating under the auspices of LSUIA.

The defenders were also presented with successful veteran-sports development projects in which the university's faculty are involved. In addition, they were briefed on potential employment opportunities within the university.

Oleh Humeniuk, Head of the Automotive Training Department, described the terms of study at the Barrier‑Free Driving School: "The main requirement is a medical certificate confirming that the individual is fit to drive a vehicle. The theoretical course lasts four weeks and can be attended either online or on‑site at the driving school. Practical training extends over one and a half months and can be completed in Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Kropyvnytskyi, Kryvyi Rih, or in the Kyiv region."

A representative from LSUIA also introduced the warriors to the program for both theoretical and practical listener training courses, as well as a list of documents required for admission to the Driving School.

He emphasized that the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine as part of First Lady Olena Zelenska's "Without Barriers" initiative. Its goal is to create equal opportunities for everyone who wishes to learn to drive and obtain a driver's license.

Joining the meeting was Serhii Bobra, Head of the Communications Sector at the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (RSC MIA) for Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zakarpattia regions. He answered participants' questions about the services available to them.

The event also featured remarks by Nataliia Korkishko, Deputy Head of the Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs and National-Patriotic Education at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs (LSUIA), and Karolina Skakunova, a leading specialist in the same department.

"We invite veterans to meet with cadets because they are best suited to share what we're fighting for and how. It's crucial for young people to understand what our real life is like. Additionally, we invite defenders to participate in activities at our sports complex. They have the opportunity to play volleyball, table tennis, or swim in the pool at the Dynamo Sports Society facility," Nataliia Korkishko explained.

Anatolii Perepelytsia, Head of the Human Resources Department at LSUIA, emphasized employment opportunities for veterans at the university and outlined its areas of activity and current job openings:

"We have vacancies that can theoretically be filled by active servicemen who have been wounded and deemed unfit for frontline service, as well as by those who have already been discharged from the Armed Forces due to their injuries. Lviv State University of Internal Affairs already has relevant experience: it currently employs about twenty people with disabilities, four of whom have taken part in combat. And we see real prospects for further development in this direction," said Anatolii Perepelytsia.

Arranging such events represents a tangible step toward new opportunities for defenders who prove each day that indomitability is not only about war, but about forging a path to a dignified future.
