Training for police officers on combating domestic and gender-based violence has been completed at LvSUIA

For four days, training on combating domestic and gender-based violence took place at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The event was held on the initiative of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine.

20 police officers participated in the training. In addition, Kateryna Hurkovska, a teacher at the Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Process of LvSUIA, joined the event.

Rector of the university, Roman Blahuta, congratulated the participants on the completion of their studies.

"I wish you to implement the received knowledge in your professional activity. Share it with your colleagues, offer new ideas and methods for solving problems. Maybe due to your small steps, there will be big changes in the field of combating domestic and gender-based violence," the Rector said.

Hannelore Vallier, the Head of the EUAM Lviv Field Office, also expressed her greetings.

"Your attitude towards citizens and communication with them shows the level of development of a democratic society. And the main mission of our organization is to support you on this path," she emphasized.

Hannelore Vallier expressed her gratitude to the university management for LvSUIA is a kind of platform for holding such events, and also thanked the trainers who share their experience with police officers.

The participants were congratulated on the successful completion of the training by Roman Turchak, Deputy Chief of Police of Lviv Region, Roman Hrankivskyi, Deputy Chief of the Department of Preventive Activities, and Ihor Tsap, Chief of the HR Department of the Patrol Police in Lviv region.

After that, a solemn presentation of certificates took place. The most active participants of the training also received gifts from EUAM.

As the organizers of the event told, another such training will take place next week. So another group of law enforcement officers will have the opportunity to learn the experience of European colleagues and Ukrainian experts.
