Scientific and pedagogical staff of the department provide teaching of the following disciplines (most of them are published textbooks):
- Criminal Law
- Criminology
- Criminal Executive Law
- Problems of Criminal Law Qualification
- Criminal Law Qualification
- Qualification of Crimes against Public Safety and Public Order
To ensure the educational process, the staff of the department has developed and published a number of publications. The circle has a group "Lawyer" whose members are actively working on the study of current issues of criminal law and criminology.
The department is working on the development of a topic that has a state registration, namely: Countering crimes under investigation by police: legal, criminological and forensic aspects (state registration number 0111U007105) – Candidate of Law, docent Avramenko O.V.). Purpose: to study the problems of criminal law and the practice of application of current criminal legislation of Ukraine concerning crimes ; development of proposals and recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of criminal law regulation in Ukraine. Expected results: generalization of the obtained results with their subsequent referral to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Supreme Court of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The department trains adjuncts, graduate students and applicants.
