Legal clinic

The Legal Clinic of the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs (hereinafter - the Clinic, LvSUIA) was established at the Legal Consulting Center of the Lviv Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine by the Rector's Order dated November 12, 2004 № 385 "On the Establishment of the Legal Clinic".

Since its establishment, the clinic has been headed by its founder, Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, retired police colonel Taras Zenoviyovych Harasymiv.

In accordance with the order of the LvSUIA dated March 13, 2015 № 53 a specialist, the senior lieutenant of police Andrusyshyn Roman Mykolayovych was appointed the chief of the Legal Clinic, and the deputy chief was appointed an associate professor of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure Yevkhutych Iryna Mykolayivna.Юридична клініка

The consultants of the clinic are applicants for higher education studying in the field of "Law".

The first direction of the clinic's work is the provision of free legal aid to citizens and the introduction into the educational process of elements of practical training in the field of legal services.

The second direction of the clinic's work is to conduct legal education activities in the form of lectures and trainings in educational institutions, orphanages and shelters, as well as in other institutions. Thus, on April 2, 2018, a memorandum of cooperation between the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Lviv region and the Legal Clinic of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs on further work within the legal education project "I have the right" and other projects of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was signed.

As part of the third direction of the clinic, on September 23, 2015 a memorandum of cooperation with the NGO "Association of participants of the anti-terrorist operation of Lviv region", September 1, 2018 with the NGO "All-Ukrainian human rights organization" Legal Hundred " for further cooperation in providing legal assistance to participants of ATO and their families was signed.

The deputy head of the clinic, who oversees this area, systematically publishes articles in the magazine "Association of ATO participants of Lviv region" on the justification of obtaining the status of a participant in hostilities, establishing the fact of being in the ATO zone, as well as other important issues .

Since 2012, the Legal Clinic of the LvSUIA is a member of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine and participates in regular congresses, as well as other events organized by the association.

Among the main tasks of the Legal Clinic of LvSUIA participates in the development of Regulations on the activities of Legal Clinics in higher education institutions, so in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 23.11.2016 № 1414 "On the establishment of a working group to improve the Standard Regulations on the legal clinic of higher education" head of the Legal Clinic Roman Andrusyshyn is a member of the working group to improve the standard Regulations.

In addition to organizing the implementation of the main directions of the clinic, clinic consultants (students) carry out legal representation in courts, and one of the last is the representation of a citizen of Lviv in the Shevchenkivskyy District Court of Lviv in the case of restoration of violated rights and legitimate interests. As a result of legally justified actions and high professionalism of consultants, the court decision in favor of the client of the Legal Clinic was made. As a result, students were awarded diplomas by the university management.

Legal Advisory Center (Legal Clinic) of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs is going to continue its activities in the direction of providing free legal aid to vulnerable groups, conducting various legal education activities, providing legal assistance to ATO participants and their families, to represent interests citizens in courts and other institutions, as well as to continue work on the implementation of theoretical skills of young lawyers in practice.
