About the University

Lviv State University of Internal Affairs is a multidisciplinary higher education institution of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which provides educational services for the training of specialists of educational degrees:

  • "Bachelor" in the following specialties: "Law", "Law Enforcement", "Psychology", "Accounting and Taxation", "Finance, Banking and Insurance" and "Management";
  • "Master" in the specialties: "Law", "Law Enforcement", "Psychology", "Management", "Financial Intelligence".
  • "Doctor of Philosophy" in the specialties: "Law", "Economics", "and Management".

 

Mission of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs

Creation and dissemination of qualitative knowledge, innovations and educational system for training qualified specialists in jurisprudence, law enforcement, socio-economic, managerial spheres, as well as participation in the formation of leadership potential of Ukrainian society, security culture, competitive economy, needs and ability to change and maintain safe living environment.

Structure

There are 6 faculties in the University: Faculty 1 trains specialists for investigation units; Faculty 2 trains specialists for criminal police units; Faculty 3 trains specialists for preventive police units; Faculty of Law, Faculty of Psychology and Faculty of Management and Economic Security; as well as the Educational and Training Centre "Vereshchytsia", the Western Ukrainian Center for Primary Vocational Training "Police Academy", the Department of Educational and Scientific Training and the Center for Postgraduate Education, Extra-mural and Distance Learning.

Doctoral and postgraduate (postgraduate) studies, specialized scientific councils on theses defense for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in "Criminal Law and Criminology, Criminal Executive Law", "Philosophy of Law", "Economic Security of the State", " Economic Security of Economic Entities" operate in the University.

Professional staff

The educational process at the university is provided by 22 departments. The highly qualified research and teaching staff of the educational institution consists of 11 academicians, 28 doctors and 227 candidates of sciences, 1 "Honored Lawyer of Ukraine", 1 "Honored Worker of Education", 2 "Honored Workers of Science and Technology", 3 "Excellence in Education", including 22 professors and 131 associate professors, 2 masters of sports of international class, 2 honored masters of sports of Ukraine, 14 masters of sports of Ukraine and 2 masters of sports of the USSR.

International activities

The University closely cooperates with educational institutions of foreign countries, in particular the Republic of Poland (Higher Police School in Szczytno; Higher School of Law and Administration in Przemyśl-Rzeszów; Lublin John Paul II Catholic University; Marie Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin); Higher School of Security (Przemyśl), University of Occupational Safety Management (Katowice), State Technical and Economic Higher School (Yaroslavl), Georgia (Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), the Republic of Armenia (Educational Complex of Police), the Czech Republic (Prague Security Studies Institute), the Republic of Serbia (Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies), the Republic of Moldova (Academy Stefan Cel Mare), the Republic of Belarus (the Ministry of the Interior Academy), the Republic of Tajikistan (Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), The European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Association of European Police Colleges, the Hanns Seidel Foundation. Within the framework of this cooperation, delegations are exchanged to study the experience of training specialists for law enforcement agencies.

Leisure of cadets and students

A significant role in the work with personnel takes the issues of moral, spiritual and aesthetic training of applicants of higher education. All conditions for comprehensive development of the personality are created in Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.

During the academic year, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work of the Personnel Department conducts:

  • competitions (photo contest, New Year and Christmas contest "Ukraine carols", competition for the best recitation of poems by Taras Shevchenko, for the best recitation of Ukrainian poetry and prose between different higher education institutions of Lviv, for the best performance of a parade song, beauty contest "Miss LVDUVS");
  • concerts ("Christmas carols", Defender of Ukraine Day, Student Day, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, International Women's Day, Mother's Day, Science Day, Father's Day, Constitution Day of Ukraine);
  • evenings of remembrance (on the occasion of the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-33, the victims of the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, honoring the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred);
  • requiem rallies (on the occasion of honoring the participants of the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident, honoring the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, the Day of Remembrance of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine);
  • brain-rings with the participation of students of secondary schools of the city of Lviv on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian week of law;
  • flash mobs (on the occasion of the anniversary of the first performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine "Ukraine is not dead yet", Poetry Day, Embroidery Day, Flag Day, Independence Day);
  • lectures for higher education applicants of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs;
  • charitable social projects (“Give a helping hand”, “Feed the hungry”, “Unite well.” Assistance to needy people and people at risk due to the threat of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Visiting geriatric boarding houses, infirm and lonely pensioners of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, visiting boarding schools of Lviv region);
  • together with the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the LODA Children's Service, the Juvenile Prevention Sector of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region, regional competitions of the Young Policeman of Lviv Region teams are held.
