LvSUIA representatives and European Center for Security Studies discussed the prospects of cooperation

Online meeting between representatives of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and the George Marshall European Center for Security Studies took place today. Participants discussed the prospects of cooperation in science and education, in particular, the possibility of implementing joint projects and programs.

LvSUIA Vice-Rector, Professor Olha Balynska noted that the university is interested in involving specialists from the Marshall Center in training for cadets, students, teachers and employees of practical police units. Priority topics include combating human trafficking and criminal offenses.

At the same time, representative of the Marshall Center, Professor Joseph Vann, stressed the readiness for such cooperation and offered to outline in more detail the ways of further cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Olha Balynska invited experts from the Marshall Center to join the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Combating Human Trafficking, that will take place at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs in October, 2021.

The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies is one of five U.S. Department of Defense Regional Centers and the only bilateral Center. It is also the only regional center for the Federal Republic of Germany. The Centre’s mission is to enable solutions to regional and transnational security challenges through capacity building, access, and a globally connected network.
