International online seminar on the development of a training course on radiation safety (as it was)

Virtual international seminar on the development of a training course on police response to the threat of theft of ionizing radiation sources during use, storage or transportation was held on the basis of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The event is part of a joint project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Department of Radiological Safety of the US Department of Energy.

LvSUIA Rector Roman Blahuta addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He noted the importance of developing and implementing a training course for police officers on the protection of ionizing radiation sources and responding to threats in this area. In addition, he wished the participants of the event to complete the preparation for the development and implementation of the training course.

The training lasted for 5 days. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which provides the development of the training course, and four basic institutions of higher education with specific learning conditions were among its participants. Volodymyr Senyk, Head of the Department of Information and Analytical Support of Law Enforcement Bodies of LvSUIA Faculty №2, Roman Demkiv, Associate Professor of LvSUIA Department of Theory of Law, Constitutional and Private Law of the Faculty №1, and Kateryna Krushets, Senior Lecturer of LvSUIA Department of Tactical Special Training, joined the event.

The first stage of the training took place in March this year in Kharkiv.
